The other header is trash. Rust thru in some places. May have some recycle value. Hmm...maybe the can is still usable?

$160? I can't find my original sales slip, but I thought they were in the $300 range new, but like when my parents used to buy bread for 5 cents .... That was the best pipe I ever had and the only one thats still around.

Post some updates as you move along...

While I'm waiting on parts, turned a different trick this week.
This is the Beasley tub after doing a few mods. They show it being made for a TRAC chassis, but with some help from Ryan (BIG THANKS!!) it looked like it could be made to fit. Stopped counting after having pulled the rear wheel ten times. Turned out pretty nice and I think it will solve all my water problems.

Thanks Dr H. Yeah, she was quite the catch. I want to return her to as close to stock as possible. That's why she gets the stock exhaust. And that custom seat probably goes to the red bike, too. I have a stock seat with body trim that's in pretty good condition. I sold the side covers with the Brit emblems on ebay, and found a stock set with nice silver GS emblems. I'll hafta live with the SS brake lines, and the new style engine covers. Other than that, she'll be showroom stock.

Last week was checking ebay and found a 1990 Katana 750 head with a buy it now price for 49 bucks. Couldn'y pass it up after the seller sent me a pic of the sides and it had the casting dot like the slingshot j models. Even pick up the 750 cams too.
So it showed up today and even had the intake manifold too, I measured the valves and they are 28 & 25 mm. So i guess I made out like a bandit cause so far I got only 75 bucks into it and all I need to do is a valve job and plug a few holes and will see how it goes on the GS engine.
It was really nice to get a good deal on one of these's heads after all the bull**** I went through last year when a jerk seller was talking out his but hole saying he had one.
I got a feeling this head my run faster than my 1150 head cause it had only 23mm exhaust valves and this head has 25mm. I really didn't see much of an improvement when I just installed the 29.5 valves in the 1150 head and left the oem exhaust valves in. It will be a nice to compare the 1100, 1150 and this 750 head.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

Hey, your back with the living Jake. Good to hear your getting ready for this year. $75 was a steal. I am running 28.5 and 24.6 in the 1150 head. Thinking to have my old 1100 head opened up.Last edited by Guest; 01-25-2007, 05:55 PM.

Here's whats going on with this head
Looks alittle funny but it goes with my bike's theme. It has 28mm intake and 25mm exhaust valves and the chamber is 22cc. Not to sure if my 13-1 pistons will work???
This pic I'll need to seal up the 4 return/drain holes that are right next to the outer studs. Oil will just drain down the cam tunnel. The head is not as big as a GS one so these's hole are exposed. Another thing is this head is longer at the rear of the cam tunnel so I need alonger gasket 1/2" would work but I'll try some gasket sealer.
There are 2 oil drain hole on the head that need a plug. There about 28mm in size and a automotive freeze plugs should work out?? Also you can see the rear cam tunnel part of the head that will need some RTV
This pic you can see the exposed oil drain hole in the block. RTV may work or I'll just tap and install 4 plugs.
More to comeLast edited by RacingJake; 01-27-2007, 12:18 AM.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

Ok Jake, I have to ask the all important question now. Are you wanting to part with the 1150 head? I don't care if the valves are still bent. I'm not in a big hurry if you want to think about it.
Will the stock cam chain work, or do you need to have one made up? I have a friend who has put together some strange Kaw engines that needed the chains made up. If your interested I will find out who supplied them.

Thanks for the offer Mark but I'm planning on keeping it. As a matter of fact I was going to order new valve's for it but since I saw this head it's on the back burner for awhile.
From what I hear a stock chain will work fine and all you do is use gs sprockets on the 750 cams. Tonight I even test fitted a GS cam chain on the 750 sprocket's and the only differance is the 750 sprocket are not as wide as the GS ones I guess.
Even the pro pipe lines up and all I need to do is alittle grinding on the outside lip and they will go right in. The only major work to do is a valve job.
With alittle luck it should be up and running by March.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88
