If you change your mind, you know how to reach me.

It sounds like it's not going to be too big of a job getting the head to work. Do the tracks in your area open in March, or April? Our first points race is April 28.

The last 2 weekends in Feb we got test and tune and the points race starts 1st weekend of March. Still gets alittle cold once the suns goes down.

I doubt we will be doing much of anything in Feb. This is what I saw when I got out of bed today..

A solid 16" of lake effect.

        Not like he's little..

Send some of that 16" this way! Haven't had much pow to snowboard/ski here lately. Do you like to snowmobile or ski in the winter when it's cold and snowy?

Lake effect Snow, We don't have any of that here. Thank god for the heated garage. This is going on as I type.

my garage is a little heated but the temps are going down big time this week and all i have left to do is put new fork springs in so i can wait till it warms up a little.

We ended up with another 2" was all. They still havn't plowed our road yet, so the 4wd can have a little workout. Looks like you got a few.

Hope the UPS trucks can make it....

I was into snowmobiles when I was a kid. Used to do some cross country skiing
and I was even a big swimmer back then. Now days I really only have an interest of working and riding the 2 wheel stuff.

Last summer we had a big sled event and the kid was asked to drive in an all motor class. He was all pumped up, till he went down the track. He did put the sled into the 8's which was real good, but he said it was pretty boring compared with the bike.

I'm going to try my 1166 block with the 13.5-1 pistons with this head. The chamber are small like 22cc. The side's of the dome's are hitting the head when place up against the head. So today I file down the sides just alittle and they sit flush with the head now. This should provide enough clearance once the copper head gasket is on.

From what I hear is compression is 1.5 higher with this head. So even after a little grinding compression should still be above 14-1.

Put the block and 1990 Katana 750 head on and installed the front cam chain guide, just needs alittle welding to extend the groove notch somemore and it's good to go.

Also removed all the valve's and felt alittle casting lines where the seats meet the ports so I'll touch them up and should be smooth as a baby butt pretty soon.

So far there's no big show stoppers

I might even put the lights, horn, baffle and 170 tire back on, get it register then ride it to the track???

Maybe you can run it on the old transfat oils from McDonalds now?

Ahh, where to begin.. well right now i'm carefully measuring piston to head clearance numbers using various thickness's of "shims". Once i get this number, then i'll have to get cometic to make me a gasket to compensate for the overly large piston dome.

Of all the mods you guys do to these old GS's, I like the look of the mono-shock best of all. Nice looking job!

Looks like my track is moving the box and no box motorcycle racing from Saturday to Friday night. Since I'm a Friday type of racer this sounds good to me. No more 8 hour days waiting for all the cars to get through.

Show up, time trials, then go racing. I think I'm going to like it.

I removed the old worn out slick and put the 170 back on so far.
