Is that the same car with new paint?

When we bought the trailer, the guy says to the wife that we can use it for storage in the winter. My wife says, that's saying that it's time for my husband to get rid of some stuff. LOL

I finished it up today and we tried out the winch. It works great. I can load and unload the bike by myself with ease. It just needs a big screen TV in the front.

As much as I would like to claim him, I can't. He is a friend of mines. He has grown up around dragbikes and started running ProStar at 14 (I think) on the RD. Good kid. Deadly on the tree. At ProStar you were not allowed to ride anything in the pits (even a mini-bike) without a valid drivers license. When he would run they would make comments that he was not old enough to ride a pit bike around, but he was going over 100 MPH down the track. It has been a lot of fun watching him grow up and improve his skills at the track. Not just riding skills, but how to use the weather station and wrench on his own bike. I can't wait to see how he does with the car tire. He used to ride the bikes before I started pitting, so it's not new to him.

I would still ask your Dad. Maybe he will buy you a new bike now that your older?!

        The kid...

There's dad, and the little RD. 11.30's LOL!!

Dad and son place 1st and 2nd (both in blue). Us pit guys in red.

He bought that car at the end of last year. he just changed the name on it. He went thru 4 cars last year. He wanted to go faster than his 11 second vega so he sold it and bought an altered. Real low tens with a mild big block. It had no suspension in the back and he wasn't very comfortable with the bouncing. Traded that for an older dragster with a 327 on alcohol. Neat car, but he had alot of trouble getting in and out of it. Then he traded the dragster for this car. It's almost like an old funny car thats been converted. Full tube chassis car. All the body work is fiberglass. From the inside you can see where the hatch was fiberglassed over. The motor in it had a cracked block when he got it. He ended up basically selling all the parts off the motor and buying another motor with one season on it. He said he's going to slow it down and try and run 10's with it. I helped him put the motor in and did a bunch of wiring for him. he let me run his old vegal last year and made a comment about me taking a pass in this car over the summer.

I would say you guys have a very talented painter over there. Thos bikes look awesome.

            LOL!:-D Older, yup...turned 51 a couple of weeks ago.
Actually my Dad did buy me my first bike...a Honda 50 Scooter back in '70 or '71...

Right now, I think I'm supposed to be looking for a drag bike for him.
He's 72 and just went though his second chemo treatment for leukemia....
Back in January, he asked me to keep an eye out for one...
He said if the chemo works, he should have a couple of good years and he'd like to try it out...

Mom and I aren't sure if he's serious...he's hard to read.

I had to post these pics for my buddy Ken (Jadesystem). He has quite a collection of vintage UJM's. Not pictured is his Honda Nighthawk. Here in the first photo is a Honda Interceptor, Suzuki GS1100ES, a Honda custom, and a Yamaha FJ1100.

And his latest project, an '85 GS1150. Oh, there's the Nighthawk.

The oil pan drain plug threads were stripped, so the pan came off for repair. Might as well remove & clean the oil pump screen while I'm down here. Damn! This old pan gasket must have been painted on with Gorilla Snot! Another PO legacy!

Hard at work to get this bike ready for the 2nd Annual Western States Rally in July!

Where did the seat come from?

I hope Ken jumps in to explain. He doesn't visit the GSR much. The GS1100 has a stock seat recovered with red Italian leather. I like the way it accents the blue/white paint job. I think Ken said he has extra material he will be using on the 1150.

60's with 0% chance of rain. Let the racing begin. I turned the storage trailer back into a race trailer yesterday. I'm very near ready to go.

im so p/o. The guy thats painting my fairing said that it would be done today. Guess what. Not done yet. I'm going to make some passes on the busa and just tinker with the clutch on the gs tomorrow. Set the stall etc. I was really looking forward to making some runs with it. I guess thats what I get for having the fairing painted as a favor. Would have been better off buying the material and painting it myself.

I just figured you would be setting up the clutch all day. The fairing won't be that big of a problem will it?

With it being the only T&T before the season starts I just hope that it's not so packed that I can only make 2 runs.

I'm worried that with that dash on there it would make the bike unstable at speed. It sticks up like a big air catcher and I've never made a pass on the bike without a fairing covering the top of it. I figure once I get the rpm set I need to launch it and plug thru a couple gears to really see what going on.
