Susp. mods that keep a stock look

For a while I was considering going all out on the susp. mods going with newer adjustable forks and upgraded rear shocks/swingarm. However after working on it for a while and talking with my dad on and off we have decided to make it as stock looking as possible. This isn't to mean I want it to handle like it does now though:shock:

Are there any good susp. mods out there that will upgrade the handling of the bike while keeping a stock look? I know the rear shocks aren't going to look stock anymore but I can live with that but I would like to keep the stock front fork. In know it isn't going to have superbike handling but I'm willing to live with that to have it in the same condition that my greatgrandfather had it.

I've been thinking for awhile about ZRX shocks on the rear but don't know if they are to long or not.

progressive shocks look pretty "Stock"

the zrx shocks are nice, that's what i upgraded a few weeks ago... I'm still working on dialing them in, but they are a huge improvement over the 27 yr old shocks that were on it

Put progressive springs in your stock front shocks and 15 or 20 wt oil and no air and you'll be fine.

Depending on money, I would recommend racetech emulators and springs for the front, if they make them for you Grandad's GS. I have progressive shocks in the rear, and they retain the stock look, but only have adjustable preload...no damping udjustment. Look at Ikon shocks. Works performance has NICE stuff, too, but they are pricey...400.00 for a set of shocks for mine.
