I would have said that you would need a more "efficient" engine than a bigger engine, since current GSXR750 and 1000s are pushing around 150 / 168 at rear wheel.
Sorry, Im not really up on the new bred anymore because I cant physically ride bikes with (broomstick up the ass) seating positions like that....I cant touch the ground!!!
Do they really have 168 at the rear wheel, Surely thats at the Crank?!
Wouldnt they have to be pumping out something like 185-190 at the crank to get 168 at the wheel?!

Anyways, V&H had a GS1100 instructional Video out in the early 80's.
The mods were 33mm Smoothies, V&H (345?) Cams, No mention of porting, 1170 kit, V&H Header & Pipe.
          At the gearbox they got 130 @8000rpm, 143 @ 9000, 151 @ 10000.

Im presuming thats around 128hp to 135hp at the rear wheel which is about right based on some of the dyno sheets guys have put on here?

2007 GSXR1000 made 158hp at 12250rpm and 75ft-lb at 10250rpm, both at the rear wheel as published in the June 2007 Motorcyclist.

            Motorcyclist dyno'd a 2006 GSXR1K at 159.8hp at 11500rpm and 79.2ft-lb at 9750rpm. Again, both numbers at the wheel.

                140,5 hp @ 8300rpm
                106 ft-lbs@ 6500rpm 95,9 ft-lbs already @ 4000rpm

                All measurements at the wheel.

I really love my GS. The abuse you can put into it, still it delivers...
