You are going to have to let me know ahead of time as the bike spends most of the time in storage right now. It will be finished hopefully by the end of the month though and will be out as soon as the snow melts

That's just a little resin rich there :-) Decent job though. I've got something like 120 square feet of fiberglass sitting in my bedroom.. I still haven't figured out what to use it on.

I noticed the resin also, but declined to say anything at the time. You do want to be careful, because too much resin can make the finished product really brittle. Shouldn't be a problem though, if you apply some more layers. You really just want to use enough resin to saturate the cloth.

I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, this is stuff that I learned the hard way quite a few years back on an auto project.

I used the woven as well, but didn't plan out all my cuts properly, and had to make a couple Oh-Crap cuts on the fly. It resulted in me gluing a bunch of strings to my gloves, pants and shoes.

Live and learn.

I know there is too much resin in some parts as I did not have a spatula to squeeze the excess out with, I was just going to grind it down before layering more

wow Chris, you're really putting everything into this. Puts my 400, weekend warior/student project, to shame. lucky i have little shame so it balances out.

No wonder you were selling off all those stock parts you had, eeesh.

That sounds good... I'd wondered about doing that myself, however I'm seriously "challanged" in doing that sort of thing.

The trouble I have over here in Aus is finding someone who actually does that sort of work.

Come on Pete, leave it out mate. You'll have these Yanks thinking that we are all neanderthals with gravel rash on our knuckles.

We do have engineering shops in Australia you know.

New rear shocks .5 inches longer than stock
Came up with a way to mount a rear fender on my swingarm
