fork angle?

I'm removing and re-attaching my steering head in order to get clearance from the tank and to change the rake so the front axle moves backwards giving me back some ride hight and better handling.

My inverted forks upgrade along with the Tracy body has presented clearance issues. If you know the angle of a GSXR 750 I'd like to know. I want to imitate it.

After more searching I've found the fork angle in the GSXR family varies from 23-26 degrees.
Anyone know the fork angle of the '82 GS1100E?

How much clearance do you have now with the new forks? What's in danger of dragging? The exhaust?

Putting shorter forks on the bike effectively decreases the rake by dropping the front end, which will give you quicker steering.

Welding some new steering stops on your lower triple to keep the forks from hitting the tank may be a better way to go than altering your steering head angle.

Make sure you get all your measurements right before modifying anything - too much or too little rake/trail can make your bike handle either like a Mack truck or cause it to go into a death wobble at speed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rake_and_trail
