They are rebuildable but it is recomended that it be done where they can be recharged. I am working towards a proprietary recharging set up. The internals in the reservoir utilize a piston.

please send me a PM if you would like to be involved in some of the final sepecification details for the GS shock. To be involved you just need a micrometer and a computer - one of which you already have. I need a few guys to measure (with a micrometer) some parts of your GS so I can use the info as confirmation numbers.

micrometer, or calipers. I can get you half a thou accuracy with a set of dial calipers ;-) And with the rust and paint prevalant on suspention mounting points (which is what I'm assuming you're measuring)... Well measuring to half a tenth would be severe overkill, if not asking for problems.

Would a set of old OEM shocks be of any help ? There must be loads of them laying around this site. I can donate a set off the old 82EZ.

I have a digital caliper and I think this thing is a computer...

I'm definitely interested in two pairs of your high end shocks, one for my '82 Katana and one for my '82 GS1100E. It sounds like you are doing your homework. I hope that you put out a chrome set or nickel plated at least. Gold shocks look stupid in my opinion on a bike that is otherwise comprised of black and silver components. A little longer than stock would be great to enable more precise steering control. Let me know what measurements you need; my digital caliper goes up to 6 inches and also measures up to whatever the equivalent for that is in the metric world.

Mike's right. They are very uptight over at KZR. The site used to be a great place to hang out, but it has been taken over by a few who dominate and they don't allow dissent.[-o< Neither do they allow people who know what they are talking about to contribute!

BTW, firemun, do you have a name? I notice you've not signed on any posts, and your website does not identify any of the players. I generally like to know who I'm sending my money to. Thanks, Henry.

Those are my 2 favorite Suzukis....I am not the best at the years but my best guess is an 82 GS1100E and the same year Kat.....gorgeous and feared on the street. I agree that gold would not compliment either one of your bikes.

If anyone would be willing to ship me an old OEM shock that would be great. I would of course pay for shipping and ship it back with two weeks and would NOT disassemble the shock. That is a great suggestion. I would not have been so bold to suggest it as I dont know any of you.....yet.

                        Brian,
I sent you an email. I have some stock 78 GS1000 shocks that you can have. They are old and useless to me.

Ditto that! Those bikes are beautiful, Guyver. I hope you can make it up this summer on one of them!

To go back to an earlier post what would the effect of running these with the progressive front springs be?
Why does your guy recommend non progressives?

                              Those springs are popular here.

The question about the fork springs is here...

I have always replaced my seals everytime fork springs are swapped out.I know you all would, but i had to mention it . I am very fortunate to know an ex factory honda race team suspension technician and he has been part of our R&D process and recomends a non progressive set of fork springs as part of the front rear package. We are not in that part of the business as of yet. We cannot recomend a rate for the suzuki applications currently.....but we will.
