    man I could not wait any longer, got rid of the bike (82gs1100e) an bought a 83GS750E with the monoshock setup already 8-[

    GL Guys , some good points in Long's and the others posts/

    Quit setting here with your mouse in your hand, and find another alternative.
    They gave you some really good advice, we have organized group buys on my KLR Hayabusa, and 4x4 boards I belong to, they WORK`!

      Question now, what shocks do you recommend, for a GS550, that cost less than $300?
      Easy. Progressive 12 with an S&W spring installed! I had these on my old 550 and they were fantastic. Rob at CycleRecycle2 in Indy (www.usedmotorcycleparts.com) helped find and install the spring, I just sent him the shocks.

      I too couldn't hold out for the Vipex and went with a set of Progressive shocks/springs on my 1100. I'm fairly happy, as I knew what to expect with the Progressive parts.
