turbo kat?
Well I pulled apart a wiseco big block and found a set of 1328cc turbo pistons. I was told it was a 1428 13.5-1 engine but guess he was wrong. So I am going to keep my eyes out for a turbo for my katana.

Assuming your asking used, I have seen full kits on eBay from time to time. Good luck.

Rajays have a very large bearing (bushing) contact surface and can stay alive with a lot less oil pressure if they are balanced real well and get enough oil flow. I'd be happy to help a fellow member with a turbo setup.
Another option is to use some ball bearing turbo. They should survive with very low oil pressure. But they tend to be pretty pricey.

I saw a complete running (used and on the bike) turbo setup on ebay two weeks ago. It was on a older GS It was a Rayjay as I remember and he was asking $1500. I dont know if this is a good price or not. Seems a little steep for a used turbo.

I have a few odd turbo parts hanging around too. Keep us posted when you start and take lots of pics. Herman rebuilt my turbo a few years back and it is still running great.

At idle it sounds a bit like a tl1000 with race cans and a fast idle. Cruising along it is not much louder than a gs1000 with a yosh pipe. When I pass under boost I have been told it sounds like a harrier jet with a quick misfire. One guy I ride with is a jet mechanic...
The turbo actually takes a lot of the noise out and I have no plans of changing the exhaust at all.

Other side:
Turbo is a B25 rajay. converting to an F compressor this winter yet and EFI. I will be selling the B side stuff and the modified HSR42 with a sweet carb-to-turbo adapter when I get into the EFI conversion. Turbo housings, pipes, and the manifold were coated in Shelbourne. Ceramic for the hot side and a material that dissipates heat on the cold side and the intake manifold.

Looks great dude. I am stoked now...
I am going to be looking for a roller bearing turbo I guess with carb not efi.
Can you list the parts I will need IE: carb, mainifold, header, turbo, wast pipe and so forth? I want to know what the complete kit consists of.
have you made any mods to the motor?? studs or anything other than turbo pistons? Are the cams special?

Blow/Draw through? I had a lot of work done to my motor. Quite a long list of internal upgrades and lots of time and money spent. 1100 turbo pistons, gs billet basket and 1100 ratio straight cut gears on trued/welded crank, kawi shim under buckets and lots of other head work, etc....
Some pics during the build.
Most of my build pics are over at

You'll need:
All the plumbing (exhaust pipes and boost safe intake stuff that sees pressure) and all related hoses/lines, turbo, carb of sorts, fuel pump, fuel regulator, wastegate, BOV (if running blow thorough), decent ignition, deep pockets....
