    Bandit exhaust port spacing

Hey does anyone know if the spacing at the exhaust ports is the same on a 2000 1200 Bandit as an '82 GS1100E?

I have run the same pipe on a gs1000,gs1100 & my 1200 Bandit. The spacing is all the same.

Hey, a neighbour!!! Thanks for the info Paul.
In the summer I ride up region road 19 from the lake, have a bite in Tilsonburg before heading further on or back home on Hwy 3. Do you ride a street bike as well as drag? (I live just 10 min from Sparta)

I think the exhaust port spacing for all the big a/o cooled zukes was the same....

          Dan-O: Roger that! :)

The spacing IS the same but the DIAMETER is different. And, yes, the GS pipes can EASILY be made to work on the air cooled GSXR type engines! Ray.

The pipe geometry is quite diff though. The bend in the pipe is mutch closer to the head and the angle coming out ot the head is more down than out like the gs.
I have been told that the optimium length of the header before bending is 7" from the exhaust valve. This makes the most hp.

Correct me if I am wrong but. isn't the bandit pipe a sloppy fit under the motor? doesn't fit tight because of the diff of the port angles between the gs and the bandit.

The pipe is not a Bandit pipe. I have no idea where it came from, I have had it forever. However, it is a tight fit on the Bandit but fit just right on the 1000 & 1100.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I was considering a Bandit header off fleabay for a fabbed up header.
