I would but that black plastic hose is not so impressive to look at. I'm going to see if I can get some fresh blood to join us.

        How about the Horsepower Hotel

Been working on my second engine, getting the cases clean up to put the 1166 back together. The 1395 is waiting on a chain and 16T 5/8 sprocket from Schnitz's to show up.

But I did make me a nice bracket for the new bottle that's going in

Bottle looks nice. Do they paint or anodize them?

So I'm not the only one building a spare motor now. I havn't started to take mine back apart yet. I finally have all the parts to finish it. I am betting you will have yours done and started before me. Are the cases in the bike still the ones you cracked a few years ago?

Got a little welding done and two layers of glass and lots of resin in the body.

The bottle is just painted, it's almost a shame to clamp anything around it.

Yeap one down and one to go, The case that i cracked is the one in the bike, it's the only one that's been bore out for a big block. I had to tear it apart to put the 750 ratio crank in and the big block back in. I did checkout the repaired area when it was apart. I'd figure if it was going to crack again it would of done it when i hit the nos, so far so good.

If I didn't run out of carb cleaner the 1166 would be together already.

Don't worry Mark I bet you'll get it together in less than an hour, cause once you start it's hard to stop.

I keep seeing some nice ebay GS rollers in Florida, man if they were only in Texas I buy one.

Here's a crazy crank for that second engine. With you going to that high reving 750 gear, you may as well stroke it while your at it.

Look again! The stock GS cranks are 66 MM stroke & that one is a SHORTER stroke at 59.5 MM. Ray.

Guess I'm not sure what your wanting me to look at Ray. You are correct, this one is 59.5mm and you are correct on the stock length. And yes, you are correct that 59.5 is less than 66. That's 3 for 3. Your spot on today.

Are you thinking that a shorter stroke is no good for a high reving engine?

Don't sell yourself short. I think you could do it justice! Your going to be running quicker than me next year! Yea, I doubt it's a cheap job.

I use an air filter on my race bike. Pretty rare thing I know. I washed it out tonight and let me tell ya, that water was black. I may try one of the Outerwears pre-filters next year.

I was just commenting on your "Stroke it!" comment & saw that crank as a "DE-stroke it!" Ray.

Talk about a can of worms

Got one of those garden tractor battery in there...... about 275 cranking amps. Should last a whole weekend of racing with nos too before re-charging. It's twice as big as the GS battery and only 19 bucks could'nt pass it up. If it works out I'll go with a maintenance free battery next time.

Also got the 2.5 bottle in there too, with the MC2, 2 dial controller, air tank and maybe even my lunch box

That's a lot of stuff to stick in there Jake. Your like one of those mad scientists I watch on B&W TV, wires going everywhere.

It's more like weird science ..... Just to help eliminate a few more wire's I'm going to mount the MC2 on the front frame tubes just behind the front wheel and above the exhaust pipe. I've seen a few bike's like that plus it will give me alittle more room around the battery.

I was surprize how heavy the front end was with the extended swingarm. With the old arm I could lift the front wheel off the ground, now with the longer arm I almost broke my back trying to lift it. I didn't think 4 more inches could make that much difference but boy did it.
