Cams anyone runnin GSXR 750 cams ?
:-D I got a set of 1989 gsxr 750 cams {oil cooled} I have heard they will fit in the GS 1100 . it appears they are quite a bit hotter than the stockers similar to street strip type cams offered by cam grinders .8-[
I'm just wondering if anyone here has tried them and what were the results ??? \\/Tags: None

I only installed the intake cam . I'm gonna install the exhaust cam this week to see if that improves the top end even further [-o<

I just did this as a experiment seeing I have a bunch of oil cooled GSXR parts laying around .
I would not recomend this for a street driven bike as the cams do fit but they are shorter and may cause some bearing journal wear :shock: I also had to use the early style GSXR cam gears {roller chain vs link belt }
They also have a smaller base circle and longer rocker adjuster screws should be used .
the bike made more power over 9000 rpm thus giving me my higher trap speeds .
I went through my log book to compare data for weather conditions etc. temp, humidity, air density,
the bike picked up 3 mph 1/8th mile and 5mph at the 1/4 . I kept my shift points the same {9000 rpm}
the bike ran 10.30's last night when it would run 10.50's with identicle weather conditions .
I plan on testing a set of GS 1150 cams next \\/

That sounds really good, If you ever remove the cams could you measure the lobes and post them. I can never find what the lift is on these gixxer cams. I know there's a few different one's out there??? It would be nice if they matched up the part number to the lift on the web.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

my cams are out of a 1990 750 and measured .338" at the valve . the 88/89 cams are bigger so I hear 8-[ total duration is around 310 degrees
I did not measure them @.050 .
I decided to try installing the exhaust cam as well this week to see how that pans out .
I know in a 1200 Bandit they really wake up the top end :shock:

I found some cams on ebay the 340/320 one's and I think you bidded on them too ?? When they get here I'll measure them too. My bike is running really strong with the Katana one's so this should be even better.1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

Slingshot '88-'89 Gixxer cams are :
intake .355 @ 248 (at .040)
exhaust .334 @ 242 (at .040)
I know as I have a set in my '05 Bandit 1200.
Good Luck, Ed

Won't win any shows
Right now it's a 5.5 rim, I'd like to try a 6 in busa wheel some day.
So far my best with the katana cams is 105 mph, so maybe with these 340/320 I'll be in the 108 ballpark??? If it ever quits raining I'll run the bars too
