    Hard Starter !!!!!

New to this forum. what a wealth of info.
I brought a gs 750 (1978) stock from PA to Florida. In Pa, the bike started right up and ran fine. Down here, it is so hard to start and when i do get it running, i have to keep it choked a little to stay running. the plugs are black soot except 1 which is a little on the lean side, the other three is assumed as running rich. I read the other thread about high altitude timing adj, but i dont beleive it applies so i started this thread. if it does apply, sorry if im waisting cyberspace.
Anyway, I once again would presume the carbs require adjustment. can someone walk me thru leaning them out if that is what i need to do? Or please set me straight. thanks.
