Buy cheap footrests of your choice from a more modern bike busa/R1/gixer etc (ebay is a good source) & make adaptor plates to fit them to your bike in the position you want :-D

LeeGS550E is fabbing up brackets for some modern sportbike rearsets for his GS right now, so you might PM him if he doesn't chime in here.

Thats what i'm doing...traded some stock pegs front and rear to another GSR member for some gixxer rearsets already moded for the 750 GS..

However, I have a buddy who has a C&C mill and lathe in his home shop...so if someone has a design already, let me see em and i can find out what he would charge to fab em for us.

If there's enough people that want them I can get them done overseas too if we have a decent drawing.

I'd definitely be in on some machined adapter plates if the price was right.

You could make a set with nothing but a drill, a hacksaw and a file. That's pretty cheap and easy. Slow though.

Here's how I did brackets for ZX12R rear Sets on my GS1100e

There are easier ways to mount GSXR rear sets though.

Does anyone have a thread with complete list of motorcycle jargon? Are reartsets for the rear passenger? I finally understand "forward controls" , but just call me dumb and roll me in sugar.

Rearsets are the kind of footpegs you see on sportbikes. They increase cornering ground clearance and put you in a more sporting riding position by moving the pegs upwards and rearwards.

I made brackets out of aluminum plate to put GSXR 1000 rearsets on my GS.

I lilke all the adapter plates, that seems to be a simple alternative to fit some cheap(ish) OEM rearsets to our old bikes.

I have to comment on the idea that $275 is ludicrous for a set of scratch built rearsets, though. That is NOT ludicrous at all. At current shop rates, that only gets you about 4.5-5 hours of machine time to make a complete set from a pile of raw material. Considering that you have to work out what you want, machine it up, put it together, package it, stock it and then sell it at that price, it doesn't seem that bad at all... The problem is we want to put them on a 25-30 year old bike that is only worth $3K at most. Then $275 IS way too much compared to the value of the bike. On a new $13K+ sportbike, that same $275 doesn't seem that bad... There, I feel better now.:-D
