Thanks for the invite Ray,I have to work this weekend. Did you go to the MDRA race in Vegas?

    Comment

Holly Crap!!! Made the trip for fuel, $15/gallon now. I wonder if its too late to make the new bike electric.

We finished the welding tonight. Hope to get some paint on it this weekend.

Nope! With fuel costs what they are, & my love of the Division 7 guys I know, I had to choose only 1 & Fontana is WAY more affordable right now. Sorry you can't make it, I was hoping to meet you. Will you run the Division race in September? Ray.

Just be glad your not one of the car guys, they think we have it pretty cheap.

As I'm walking up to the track fuel pit with my 1 gallon jug and they have dual 5 gallon jugs they just give me a funny look and say that's not fair.

No, I will be in Summit all year. I can stay at Famoso all year and not have to travel all over the west. It cost me $200 a fill up with my truck:shock:. I might go to the MDRA race when it gets to Bakersfield in Sept.

A Friday night now costs me $20 to enter a bike, $12 to bring the wife, $15 for a gallon of C16, 8 gallons @ $3.70 regular. Thats 80 bucks for 50 seconds of thrill at best. Pray nothing blows up!!! It's like a bad habit. I had it kicked for over ten years, then I just had to get a fix.

Your right. I have some friends that run a car that have about double the trip. They pull a much bigger trailer and burn a lot more fuel. I think they said their fuel bill alone was over $10,000 last year. I'm sure we have people paying more.

With Torco pulling out and VP costing so much and being far away, we are trying Sunoco.

My Seadoo's love to drink the fuel too, 15 gallon tank in one and 12 gallons in the other. Plus a spare 10 gallons to refuel as needed. Don't forget gasing up the truck and picking up some food and drinks. That's over 200 bucks before I even get wet.

It's alot of fun but it does cost a few bucks. It's alot cheaper for me just to hit the strip.

Well I just got a handful of runs tonight due to shearing off a few of my starter bolts. So after I replaced them at the track I ran a couple more times and called it a night.

Didn't break into the 5's at all tonight, but I tell you what hitting the button with a 60 shot put the bike on the bars in every gear and spinning the tire too. I wanted to put the 36 jets back in for some more testing but after fooling around with the starter clutch I didn't feel like messing with it.

                  There's always next week.

We were rained out. Only made a single pass. Next weekend is the Northern Nationals. They have part of the new stands up now.

Down to stickey pictures. My little PC that ran my home site died today, RIP. Ran from March of 2003, 24/7 for the most part. Hard drive was starting to get pretty loud anyway so doubt it was going to live much longer.

I did manage to finish up the wire and plumbing on the Flag bike. Seems to run alright. It now has the super bowl on it. What a job that was. Can't wait to test it out.

The new bike's frame is back home from being painted. I got some grief over it. Too many pipes to work around. It turned out good. Sorta looks like an insect with the mounts for the nose.

                        Looking good Mark :-D

Tonight was interesting, everytime I did a burnout my airshifter bottle pressure would drop 20 pounds ???? so I just pumped it up to 140 psi and did a real easy burnout and was good to go. I thinks it's the soleniod so I'm going to tear into it and see whats going on ??

I also put two washers on each arm and installed some 46 pound springs in the lockup and with the NOS on (36 shot) at launch I red lit big time and ran a 1.07, 3.57, 5.71 at 113.58,
A friend of mine said I look like I was going to slide off the bike and I said that can't be right 1.07 60ft ??? he said that's what the Pro Stock bikes do.

So I make a second run in the same lane and red lit again big time and get a 1.07, 3.58, 5.73 at 113 now I thinking there's something going on with the timing. So now my nitrous is getting low after 5 runs and pressure is at 600 psi and I try the other left lane and red lit again but run a 1.27, 3.76, 5.92 at 112

Now that last run is more believable........ a 1.27 60ft

Strange night .......... and my mph was down too

1.07?! Is that possible?! When we used to hammer the topgas bikes they wouldn't come out that hard! That is impressive but I believe it. We launch the black bike with throttle stops on and are 1.25. The kids bike is running about 20 degrees timing now and is in that ballpark too to try and get traction. Your coming out with spray, full timing and a lockup.

Is the clutch/tire slipping up the middle? Strange the MPH is so far off your normal.

1.27 is where I am with the turbo bike on a good day. Bad days ary 1.30s. I can believe your way quicker than it coming off the line. But I plan to fix that this summer.

I pull the nos bottle and it was empty, that explain the low mph.

I think those two 1.07 are BS, I'll believe it if I can back it up next week in both lanes. The 1.27 I'll keep cause 1.32 were the norm at 1395cc's. With a full bottle and the clutch starting to come around it should be interesting.

I pulled apart the air shifter soleniod and didn't find any junk inside so I just stretch the spring alittle and put it back together. Started the bike up and got on the rev limiter and the pressure didn't drop so I think that was the problem. I guess that little spring counldn't handle the thousands of runs I put it through.

I'm hoping for a good night of racing where nothing breaks or starts acting up so I can make some good clean runs and maybe break a few of my old records.

We'll I won the first points race. We only had 8 bikes show up. 3 rounds. I did save the best for last. .005 and dead on with an 8 in the final.

The bike seems to like the E85. Was running in the 9.30's pretty much all day long. Last time trial was a 9.37. Would have run a 9.34 in the final had I not hit the brakes. Might still be a tad rich. I need to get the next smaller jet ordered to see how it runs.

Congrats on the win Ryan! Last weekend at Fontana I put a new tire on for the first qual pass & made a hard right turn as SOON as I let go of the clutch! That was a NASTY surprise as I had NEVER had one of my bikes do that before! I got it straightened out afterward & ran a 9.33 @ 141 to qualify 12th. That was the quickest the bike has been at that track. There is a picture of me coming right at the camera at Bob Johnson Photography.com under the NHRA division 7 race at Fontana last weekend. It is the wildest picture I have ever had taken of me & hope it is the LAST like it! Ray.
