Now thats the way to do it Jake. I may have to make my own. What was the problem with the Ford starter? Seems like it would have done just as good of a job.
We made it past our first race. I guess the tempers ran hot. One of the bikes needed a section of fuel line and when they asked one of the car guys about it, they were told they had plenty but would never give any to a biker. Then I was told from friend that one of the car guys told them that they would run over a bike if they had to race one.
They ran the first big event of the year with a few funny cars, the kool bus and a jet truck. I took the time to watch the show this time. It was pretty good. Between runs I had fun looking at the young ladys walking around in the warm weather. Spring is here!!! I think a couple of cars may have touched the wall. Came very close if they didn't. They were running one fuel car there and he made a few passes. One was in the 310 range.
We had 90 enter our class pluss 1st round buy backs that maybe 20 entered. A lot of rounds to take the gold. We have done a lot worse for a starting race. Both bikes went out in the third. One the split was 0.0001 seconds. Shouldn't have chopped. We had a lot more bikes show up than last year when we had a bike class. Not sure why.
Should be a fun year as long as none of us get killed by a hot tempered car driver.

And Ray, you do know the bike is supposed to go streight in a drag race and turn for a road race? LOL. Like the picture. Glad you stayed upright!

The Ford relay was getting alittle weak and most likely needed replace so it was time to change since I already had a spare ram and soleniod.
I got a really good feeling the Rat bike will be in the 5's on motor alone this Friday \\/1166cc 1/8 ET 6.09@111.88

Holy crap Lecroy! A car racer actually said that they'd run over a biker!?! Thats pretty scary. What track is that at?
I'm off to my first 'official' race of the '08 season this coming weekend. About a 12-14 hour drive to get there. It's an all-bike event in Ashcroft, B.C. Should be interesting, I'll be on my old Katana in the street class, and looks like I will be on my buddies turbo-Hayabusa in the pro-street class. My first time competing on this Hayabusa. It should be very interesting to say the least!
Good luck to everyone racing this year!

Knoll Gas Motorsports Park AKA Martin AKA 131
Yep, that's the way I heard it. I guess he said it serious enough that they reported it to the track management.
Don't grab those front breaks on that Busa too hard....

Any of the tracks I race at in my area all seem pretty bike friendly. I only ever ran into one jerk at the track who seemed bitter at bikes/bikers. "bikes should not be allowed on the dragstrip" he told me. He was trying to get me off my game, as I had to race his buddy next round. His buddy was driving a Ford Lightning truck.
Ya, I'll watch them brakes too! I made that mistake once. A few years ago we were having a rain delay at an all-bike race for a couple hours so I got bored and changed/bled the brake fluid on my 'Busa. First round I got a Harley Sportster who got a huge head start on me. I went by him just feet from the line and grabbed a mitt-full of brake so I wouldn't break out. Well with them freshly bled brakes and the cold track, I locked up the brakes and went right across the line with the bars cranked and the tire smoking! My dad got it on video too. Boy did I get hell from the top end guy!
It's funny because I sometimes work the top end at my home track, and I give guys hell for getting too hard on the brakes at the finish line! Lesson learned.

Ray...there are always two sides to the story. Tank was LATE! Chris did his burn out because he was told to. I saw the whole thing, the track has a pa system and the transmitter on the am/fm radio and it worked in my trailer fine. Tank was pitted next to me. The tower told the starter to send him down. Tank finally showed with no helmet on or gloves and was trying to put them on in the water box when Chris got the light. End of story,I was there.
