sweet deal... will check out the pm for more info.
I def need some better footage to evaluate the runs with.. my kids are trying their best with my lil digital camera but they are having a hard time following me off the line with my better 60 ft times now..
Last night went to Union Grove to do some Test and Tuning to get things setup and ready for this weekend at US131 for Battle of the Bikes..
We bumped up the boost just a lil not much... still had to make sure my hand could do what it needed to do...
TRACTION SUCKED!
I was spinnin all down the track.. my kids did get videos but not very good ones.. I will get them posted up as soon as I get them off the camera.
Here's my runs:
RT .318
1.454
3.738
5.474 @ 142.45 mph
6.966
8.252 @ 175.88 mph
spinning spinning and more spinning LOL
RT .476
1.483
3.743
5.494 @ 142.29 mph
7.012
8.304 @ 180.32 mph
spinning spinning and more spinning LOL
RT .138
1.379
3.512
5.295 @ 138.24 mph
6.836
8.149 @ 176.47 mph
after more adjustments to reduce Boost and Tire PSI got some traction first half but still loosing it second half
next run was botched due to a blown fuse that was for my shifter button and dash.. aborted run but the launch felt good??
RT .178
1.383
3.734
5.554 @ 135.78 mph
7.117
8.446 @ 172.84 mph
launch felt good off the line but just past the tree the bike wheelied about a foot off the ground and being my first one since the wipeout it felt much higher to me and I got off the gas to bring it back down and got back on the gas to continue the run. After watchin the video and seeing how low it was I decided to try and wait it out a lil more if it occured again.. thinking maybe there was some traction found and these would be just lil power wheelies to be carried out.
RT .215
1.425
3.811
5.621 @ 137.76 mph
7.157
8.441 @ 182.85 mph
Again a wheelie just past the tree .. I waited this one out a lil bit longer but it kept climbing and again it felt more to me than it looked from the video this time about 1.5 feet off the ground.. I let off the gas and it came down a tad hard and off to the left enough to cause my side stand to make contact and sparks to fly. I stayed on the run.
After recounting how many passes we'd had on the clutch springs we felt we should have changed them just before the first wheelie pass... We haven't pulled them yet to look to see but at this time we feel the wheelies were due to the lock up not the track. So hopefully after taking them out tonight it will confirm this and I'll be back in motion for this weekend with a pretty decent setup to start with.
My 60's have never been in the 1.3's before that I can recall.. I think my best prior was 1.41 - All THANKS To NEM and his help.
E.
yeah my RT still suck.. but I was still paying more attention to a clean launch with my hand and feet than the tree .. but soon I wont' have a choice in the matter and will need to get back to workin on cutting better lights

Holly crap batgirl!! Are you sure you can't talk Nem into coming? That thing is wicked and I would sure feel better if he were there to make adjustments.
Friday is out for test and tune but we are on for Saturday. We will leave about 12:00 from the shop if you want to drive up with us. We will have the motorhome and stay at the track for Sundays race. Weather is supposed to be good. Track will be preped on Saturday. Sunday is anyones guess.
I will leave my stuff at home so we can focus on getting this thing done right.
Can't wait to test that license plate holder of yours!

LOL ... I wish I could but he's gotta work Sat and Sun evenings and he only has enough vacation days to take off for the Byron Points Series...
we'll be fine... He'll be available by phone if we need to tell him what the run looked like and to ask what would be his suggestion to adjust.. as for the AMS and boost settings that I can take care of not a problem. Clutch not much we can adjust with it after we change out the springs tonight. From there it's really just basic stuff like Rear Tire PSI and Suspension that we would play with
Yeah ditto on Friday for me as well.. but the plans for Sat and Sun sound perfect... I'll have the footon mattress in the back of the burb for me and my girls to sleep on so we'll camp along side ya then Sat night.
I forgot to look up their hours for Sat but if that's what time ya'll are headin up I'll plan to meet up with you to do just the same. I'm assumin you sent me the shop location by pm so I can google ya
As for prep... well maybe Sat will be my record setting ET day and Sunday will be just race and have fun day... I have some good notes on some settings that worked for poor traction now so I'll have that along with me... then hopefully we'll have good traction on Sat that I can add that setup to my notes too..
BTW my license plate holder was put to the test Tues night LOL... when I had to abort my one run cuz of no power to dash and shifter... Nem came down to the return lane to push me back to the pits.. at first he was trying to use my drag peg and kept fallin off it.. I turned and said .. DUH! Use the license plate holder... hehehee... he laughed and looked down and said OH WOW PERFECT! hehehe..

The track opens much earlier but they run the Jr's for several rounds before we get to run. We have made the mistake of leaving by 10:00 too many times. Then we just sit around.
Wait till I get behind you with that 100cc bike...

as for the 100cc bike .. just keep her under the speed limit on the return lane - don't wanna give 'em any reason to red flag me

Of course I am going to take it easy in the return lanes, your a girl arn't you?
I played with it for a while before I came up with this mess. Cut the outlet end with a longer taper, gave it a bit of a twist and really shoved it forward.

The real question is if the old fat man on a 25 year old junked out bike can hang with little miss E with her new Busa....I'm pretty sure now that I can afford to use metal rather than cardboard it won't be a problem. Looking forward to tomarrow. See ya at the shop.

Hey Ryan, I was looking at that thing when it was posted, thinking it if were only $1000 I would gamble. Just remember, the junk bike came from Florida. LOL Maybe the head could be salvaged? They sure have a lot of T/F parts.
We had a nice weekend. The weather was great. The bike turnout was sparce at best. The good thing was they let it run and they paid out the full amount even though they did not have a full show. Maybe a change in heart by the management? I took some video. Dougs bar broke a while back and he picked up a bad habit of putting his foot out. I finally taped it and played it back to him to show how stupid it looked. That cured 80% of it. He was so focused on his foot after that, that he forgot he had to focus on the tree too. LOL. I was very happey with everyone, even out newest member E. We are an all male team and it is pretty tough when the wives join. We won't get into that. I had Dougs hair on end when I told him we may have company and it was a she....
Once he saw her turn a 180 MPH pass he decided she was ok to let hang around. So E, if you want to hang out again some time, feel free to look us up.
I felt really bad that I could not help her out with that bike of hers. It is way out of my league. She did let me tinker with it a bit but I think I did more harm than good. The bike has more things to tweek than I have hairs on my back.
E, there was too much clare on the cluster to see it in the video. Do you have a way I can send you a large video file so I can send something in the res of the camera? I can post a compressed version if you like. I really should have stood more to the side to see that front tire. It does appear to start to hover after about 5' but a few feet off the tree is where it really gets out of hand. Looks very repeatable to me but you need to see the videos yourself and have Nem take a look. Let me know.
