Cant remember where this one came from but its been on my bike for years. I took it off when I did the forks. It never did much as the center support was not wide enough to fully reach the 4 allan screws. Its pushed together in this picture.
Pretty simple. Its really only 3 pieces as the fork clamps are both the same. Uses your original fork boots. Slide up the boot, clamp it on and slide the boot back down.
Anyone out there CNC savvy enough to try and copy it ?

AOD has got one posted up for $100. Even if the center support dimension is 5mm different from bike to bike the fork clamps should work and maybe you could fab up a new center support.82 1100 EZ (red)

Look on ebay for complete forks. Find all the models that share the same brace, and search for all of them until you find a set.
Also, do you have any motorcycle junkyards near you? There's one here that has a bunch of aftermarket fork braces in a box. If you can figure out what it fits, they're only like $15-20

So, how many different fork sizes are we dealimg with, and how much total space between fork variation is there? I'm thinking up a low cost universal design which would be strong, yet adjustable in both parameters.

Yep, that would be best. Guess we need specs on all the forks. With adjustability they would likely fit the KZ & the CB's too....

I'll upload a fairly accurate drawing when its done, but heres my idea- the 2 outer semi circles would be a lot like the one in the nice big pic here, and the inner pieces, in order to compensate for fork tube diameter and space between forks, would be 2 pieces sliding and overlapping, one under the other. The mating surfaces would be milled with fine serrations so that, when they are clamped tgether at the appropriate spacing, will stay rigid and not slip. Alsi, there would be about an inch and a half rise on the center piece to compensate for the differnces in clearance over the fender. The 2 outer semi rings would have an inner diameter of 34 mm, and would clamp down onto any fork from there to about 39 mm with clampimg screws going horizontally, like in the pic.
So, when some mechanical or engineering genius decides to mill these up for us schlubs that want them, you would basically have 2 different shaped pieces- 2 outer semi rings, and the 2 inner pieces, with the only milling difference being where the serrations would be milled, one on the underside, and the other on the upper side.Last edited by Guest; 01-09-2008, 12:00 PM.

I have a fork brace on my CB450 (with CB750f forks) that is designed to fit both 35mm forks (CB750f) and 37mm forks (CB900f/1100f). It just has shims inside the fork tube clamps...
