    GSXR 750 USD dforks in a GS850

    I used the front from a 1993 GSXR 750.

I used the Gsxr yokes with 4 inch bar risers and had a new stem machined to suit, mainly so that I could still use the choke set up!

Steers a lot easier and brakes are better.

I think they look sexy as well!!!

    Good luck.

You lose much more than 1.5". you lose and inch just swapping out the
19" wheel for a 17". Then you lose the fork diff of 1.5" then you lose the top inch of the forks cuz you have to mount the clipons up there.(if you go that way) The 1100 clipons don't have pinch bolts so have to mount to the top triple. That is 3.5" of loss.

IF you are using a fairing bike like a katana the forks don't fit inside the frame and fairing without some carving. The 750's do. If you get 954 triples you can use the 750 forks and get some advantage with the drop triple. The 954 tapered bearings are a direct bolt onto the gs. I have put them on a number of katanas. the only mod is steering stops/clock/ignition mounts. you can check it out on the icbm katana thread.

Hey Chris, just gotta go off thread completely here and compliment you on that really sweet trike conversion there! I've always had a soft spot for trikes for some bizarre reason...

Is it totally custom or did you modify a small car rear end or something?

The bike was bought as a non runner from ebay.

The rear axle is from a Reliant Robin Rialto (the same as Del Boy Trotter's van in Only Fools and horses, Google it for pics)
It had been sitting on an airfield for ten years, cost me £15 including the handbrake and propshaft!!!
GS driveshaft standard and propshaft shortened to suit.
The "swing arm" was bent from 3" tubing and mounts in place of the old swing arm.
          17" Wolfrace Toxins powdercoated black.
          Harley mudguard...chopped up.
Front end from GSXR just fitted.

Once you start on these things you just can't stop.
Disc brakes for the back end next.

Thanks Chris! I've heard of the Reliants being used for trikes before, but down here in the land of Oz we don't have 'em so haven't seen one except on the idiot box or the 'net.

Anyway, real nice effort there, looks like your efforts have been well rewarded with the finished product... that's if it's finished :-)
