I view violent acceleration as a bonus and not a concern. I can't imagine it being anywhere close to my GTS1000. One other question re: comfort. How's the seat compared to the GS? I really like the wide flat seat on the big GS's. A major consideration when going the distance.

Common sense has become so uncommon that I consider it a super power.

    '83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)

I haven't put a thousand miles on the big "G" yet and about 150 for a single ride. So far, so good. The seat was a bit of concern to Me since I think the 850G seat is arguably the most comfortable ever to grace a motorcycle. Some of the Guys on the "G" Man site say numb Butt sets in around 200 miles. I will find out this season as I have 3 or 4 longer rides planned. Several Guys from the G Man site have upgraded to Corbin seats but at least One wasn't impressed and changed back.

      sigpic2002 KLR650 Ugly but fun!
2001 KLR650 too pretty to get dirty

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.
