    carb age?

found these on ebay, I have just started reading about other carb options for our bike, i was wondering if you guys think these would work on my 82gs1100e.

Also whats the best way to tell how old the carbs are? I want to stick with something from the era nothing off of a new bike. any idea on these? any inputs or suggested reading is greatly appreciated.

    thanks,
    nick

Those are VM33's, good carbs if they are in good shape. They would work fine on your 1100E. I have the same carbs on my '83 Kat-1100.
They were late 70's/early 80's performance carbs, no way to actually pinpoint the exact age.

These guys should be able to help you with any parts, info. There is a parts diagram on their site too for the VM33's.

        pods for carbs

looking for k and n pods, for my 33mm smoothbores. did some searches checked k and n's site out found these, looks like what i need but there were so many variations on size I just wanted to double check. I know I am lookin for 51 mm inside diameter, was just unsure on length/width etc.

Factory direct K&N replacement air filters, air intakes, oil filters & cabin filters. KNFilters.com - the official site for performance filtration products.

if these won't work for any reason let me know so i can avoid returning things

        thanks,
        nick

The cool thing is that the filters for the 33s fit the STOCK cv carbs too! And the other way around. Ray.

You did well! Those carbs usually fetch around $400.
