Front and Rear Mods to a GS1100G

Been here sitting thinking about the future of my bike, do I leave it stock or go down the mod route.

I modified my Fj1200 when I had it by installing a FZR1000 rear end in it, made a world of difference.

With the GS1100G I now have, I was wondering what front end can I replace it with, is it a straight swap over or is there mods to do, and then what do I do to the rear seen as its shaft drive, can a wider rear wheel be fitted or do I have to change from shaft the chain drive.

Any and all help would be more than appreciated, or point me in the right direction to previous threads on this.

Well for the front everybody changes over to the newer GSX-R setup. It's mostly straight forward but you need different sized bearing for the steering stem. Look for 80gs1000 I believe he did the whole change over including a rear monoshock conversion. For the back I am stumped, I have a shaftie as well and would love to get a wider rear tire on. Maybe somebody has some ides.

There's only one person on here attempting to modify a shaft in that way... I don't think it's easy!

gsx 1100g rear end is the only one i can think of that might suit, theres a local guy has done the conversion but i dont know what is involved i'm still trying to track him down for another member & having no luck yet

as for the front end the world is your oyster, anything can be made to fit reasonably simply :-D
