I have a 84 gs 750.I am looking for a after market 4 into 1 header.I have phoned alot of places and they all say they can`t find my listing for a header. Why is my 84 different then others?.Does anyone know what header will work.

Bill I have an 83 and if it is the bike in the avatar it looks like mine other than the headlight treatment (mine is rectangular). I don't think there is any difference in the engine. Was there anything available for 82, 83 models? Mac exhausts show listings (bottom of page):
It looks like 750 and 1100 are the same.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Spyug.

Thanks again for your help.

Same kind of deal on mine. The V&H and the MAC both say they fit a 78 through 80 GS1000G, but people on here have told me they fit an 81 as well. Any of them requiring welding a mount, so why they don't include the 1981 I don't know.

rotty, keep in mind that there was no 1984 GS 750 imported to the US. Even though you are in BC like me, you may find that there are fewer bits available even in Cda because of that.
1983 GS 750's should pretty much be identical to the 84's except for color. There were some engine component changes on the 1985 GS 700 motor, but the chasis was the same except for some minor cosmetic changes.

I'm hopefully replacing my exhaust before too long. It's kinda rusty... but I've got a 4-1 header that I'd send you for cheap ($20 + postage or something) if you're interested. Doesn't seem to leak at all or anything, but no guarantees. It's currently on an 85 GS700, you can see it decently here: http://lolinter.net/headlightsfxt.jpg
I'll have to actually get a new exhaust first though of course, and you'll have to come up with your own midpipe/muffler - the one I've got there is just off an R6, but you could most likely get one up there cheaper than shipping.

Discontinued Exhaust
Rotty
You will have a hell of a time finding an exhaust. The exhaust you need is discontinued by most manufacturers. The 12514 by Vance and Hines will fit, but it is discontinued as well. if you find one snag it up as stocks will not be replenished. I just found that out a month ago from V&H. I have spent over a year looking and cannot find what I want. I could not find a 4 into 1 anywhere, except a Marshall Deeptone. You can find those on the internet. The model number is 56.200811. I did not buy one, but people have said they liked them.

The GS(X)750E/ES/EF is the same bike from 1983-up, but was not imported to the US after 1983 (the 750S "Katana" was different until 1984).
The GS(X)700 is the same bike as the 1983+ 750, with minor cosmetic changes and minor internal changes to achieve the restricted displacement to meet US import tariffs in the mid-1980's.
The pipe from any GS(X)750E/ES/EF from 1983-up (NOT the 1983 750S) or any 700 will work on your bike. The 1984-up GS(X)750S model (Canadian-domestic Katana) will work, as well, as it is essentially the same bike as the 1983GS(X)750E/ES, but with Katana bodywork.
Additionally, pipes from oil-cooled GSXR750 and 1100's will work, but bear in mind that the headpipes from the 1100 might be long enough to restrict your ground clearance (as was my experience with the stock 4-2 from a 1991 GSXR1100.
Motad is a company that still makes pipes for the 750E/ES/EF and 700, but they are based overseas (not sure if they're European or British, but they are popular in the UK). I've checked into importing one of their pipes, but the exchange rate, coupled with shipping charges, make it extremely cost prohibitive. Your best bet, in the end, would be to source a used GSXR750 pipe from eBay or the local breakers.
Good luck with your search - I hope this info has helped.
(Edit - here is some very useful model history info for you - http://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-seri...750ES-EF.shtml)

Also, be aware that there was a 1983 "T" model 750 in some markets, IIRC, that used the earlier pre-1983 16v engine. This has thrown me a few times when looking for parts, especiall budget pipes like Mac.

Wow.. Thanks for all your info.I thought i might have some trouble getting something.I think i will look inot a oil cooled gsxr and try and make that work.I wanted to put a magphone on it because of the year and look.I have a 87 stock gsxr header but it seems really small. It also has a flap in the inside for some reason in the header and straight pipe.Do you think that would work ok or should i find a after market header?.
Thanks again for the help.I will look at the motad as well.
