These are some sweet bikes, I like the conversions. Some if not most of this stuff is just beyond my reach however. If you want to convert your 65 inline 6 mustang to a V8 with all the braking capabilities than I can help you out but I never had much experience wrenching on bikes to the point of knowing:

        why I should upgrade
        what parts to look for
        how to get it done

I need to find a bike guru in my area to show me what it is you guys are talking about half the time. Hell I haven't even really figured out other than where the vavles are located, how to get them adjusted. But this site is still a blast to check out and fill my head with knowledge.

            kichigai,
Funny that you wrote this; I just read your post on another thread and noticed your address in Culver City, so I dropped you a line. I used to live in El Segundo when I worked at Outrider. I was there from '95 - '97 and worked there with Paul (the mechanic) and Noam (Norm) when he used to own it. I moved back to Kansas for my grad-studies, met a hot chick that is so far out of my league that I had to marry her, got a couple kids now and teach at a university...Kansas is pretty laid back so we're probably staying.
That being said, we're coming out to the coast in a couple weeks for a wedding...but it'll be up near San Fransisco. We do get out there about every couple years to see some friends...if we get that way I'll give you a ring and we can jam up to the Rock Store or something? BTW: I love your bike: ('83 GS1100ES?...hard to tell from the photo...but I'm going to go check out your link to your bike now.). Good meeting you! Maybe we can meet-up sometime...or if you get out this way (riiiiiight) drop us a line, we're friendly country people!
            :-D

Hi, new guy here.... what kinda work, mod or parts had to be done or swapped in to make the front end work, bearing wise?
                    Thanks

Front end was pretty easy. Just a top and bottom bearing swap on the GSXR steering stem and it bolted right up. Had to weld some new steering stops to the frame as well. If you want more detailed info, lemme know.
