Front brakes dragging
I have done the GSXR conversion with 95 gsxr forks, 6 pot tokico brakes and 93 gsxr 750 rotors. The problem is that the brake pads are still dragging just enough to keep the wheel from spinning freely. I re-bled the lines and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas??Tags: None

Unless they are really binding it's normal for the pads to drag a bit. When magazine test riders go for the very best times in the 1/4 they pry the pads off the rotors to eliminate the drag.

Well to give an comparison. on my busa the front wheel spins about 2 revolutions, the GS spins maybe a quarter turn to a half a turn. perhaps I need to get new pads and break them in to the new rotors. :?

From what I remember, before I had new tire put on it was fine. I may have to just put the original rotors back on. The reason I took them off is because the rotor rattled and felt too loose and seemed like a hazard.

This has happened to me a few times. I think tightening the axle nut with the front tire off the ground helps keep everything square.

80GS1100, I didn't push the caliper all the way in, I'll definitely give that a try...tonight I'm gonna get some EBC HH's as your right the old pads are not seating to the new rotors anymore or very well.
P_S My front end was suspended in the air when I tightened the axle down so I made sure that I didn't overtightened it.
Thanks guys...I'm sure I'll get it figured out with your help.

brakes dragging
Guys,
This used to happen to my 850 and 1000....then whilst changing pads one day I accidentally engaged the front lever...no the piston didn't come popping out but it did extend some to let me see how much dust had built up in the dust cvr...
So from here on out I clean all residue awayfrom front brake pistons on pad changes....+1 on those wheel bearings too.....any drag will show up elsewhere......

That's exactly what I found, lost of dust built up that the pistons were sticking, so I clean them as much as I could and now they're not dragging anymore.
