    Removal of oil cooler... how?

My new project GS850GLZ has an oil cooler I think i want to remove. It's connected to two ports that come from the backside of the engine, under the cam chain tensioner - the oil pressure switch is in there as well.

What stock part (or adapter) is supposed to be there when the oil ports are not?? I can't seem to find this part on any OEM parts fiche. Does anyone have a picture of what I need? Or what do I search for on e-bay??

    Thanks

Go to bikebandit.com, select your bike and find the "Crankcase" microfiche. It's part number 41. You'll also need the oil pressure switch if you don't already have one.

You should have no trouble selling the cooler for good $$ -- there are lots of goobers who think they need one on their shaftie.

Thanks for the input Brian - I think I'll just hold it for now, maybe use it down the road.

As an owner of a shaftie that had been wondering if maybe an oil cooler was a good idea: Why isn't it a good idea? I guess it could introduce additional points of failure, but beyond that...

Why would it being a shaft drive make a difference?

            Thanks!
