Somebody has been in the shop sniffing exhaust for too long. $1000 darn near for exhaust.
I seriously don't think he will get it.

There have been a few different threads about this guy already. Bottom line is that the parts are still available from Suzuki but some of the dumbheads on ebay don't realize it. He has sold several sets for over $1000 which puts a health profit in his pocket.

Don't know about those pipes, but I priced out a set of 1100EX pipes at Bike Bandit and Ron Ayers and it worked out to about $930 for everything except the right side heat shield which is discontinued. Last set of pristine 1100EX pipes I saw on Ebay went for $650.

well it may seem high to some but a friend of mine here on the gsr sold a used set off a 78 gs1000e on ebay for over $600.so i have no doubt this guy can get a grand for a brand new set.

They'd cost up to $2500 here in Aus.A set like that for under a grand would be considered a bargain to many here.We pay about 2 to 3 times the price for parts and probably 2 to 3 times for second hand bikes that you in the States pay.I guess we don't have the population or the number of suppliers to drive the prices down to your level.I chase my parts from the States almost exclusively now and even taking into account freight,I'm a mile in front.I'm very envious of some of the bikes on here that have been scored for around $1000.It's all relative I guess. The trade is,we've got an entire continent to ourselves.Cheers,Simon.

Hrrmm. All i really need is a new RIGHT muffler assembly. Everything else looks great. And, it would be about the same cost to get this or a new VHpipe. Hrmmmmm...choices choices...

Bikebandit lists all the parts for the exhaust at a total of $856.12 with one part no longer offered that being the left hand trim cover right side is listes at 33.95 however.

I have a mostly complete GS1000 stock exhaust at my parents house in NY in decent shape. If anyone wants it, let me know. You pay shipping and I'm sure my parents would love to get rid of more of my crap laying about their basement.

I can back simons call about the cost of OEM exhaust system costing $2500 here in OZ. I have just bought a set for my 82 GSX1100S and even with a healthy discount the complete OEM black chrome system was $2100. The US and Aussie dollar are trading at 97.6 cents today so we're very close on the exchange rate right now so as you can see we are paying pretty steep prices for our OEM parts here, cheers.

Put it on ebay. If the chrome looks half way decent you will get pretty good money for it - in the $150 range.
