    GS1100G to E conversion possible?

Hi Guys, just a question for you old timers.
How easy would it be to convert an 1100G to an 1100E? Can it be done by just swapping the head? Can an 1100E engine be easily swapped into an 1100G frame? What about the drive shaft?
    Let me know, thanks

8 valve & 16 valve motors have different bore & stud spacing. Could it be done? Yes, just about anything can. Would you be better off just getting an E model bike? Oh YEAH! Ray.

Not true! The swingarm could be changed out too. Again, it is a project that just isn't worth the work required. Ray.

Plus, there are probably a lot of folks out there who would gladly buy the convenience of a shafty, allowing you the $ to make the switch to an E model.

Agreed Ray. For the amount of money involved, you could simply buy an 1100E. There would be an intensive amount of effort involved in changing the motor mounts, and the swingarm mounts (completely different at the frame). Plus, Im not possitive, but i think the frame for the 1100G is simply heavier than the one for the E. Its just not worth the effort. The heads will not swap, and the jugs and pistons are different as well.
