    Keihin Carbs Vrs Mikuni???

    So there is a set of Keihin 33mm CR roundslide carbs for sale on ebay......anyone have experience with these? Vrs Mikuni Flatslides?

    Opinions please....

    Depends what bike you're fitting them to and what you'll be using the bike for! If its mainly for street use go with Mikunis. If for track or drags choose the Keihins. The Keihins won't perform as smoothy at idle and just above as Mikunis will because thay are designed with a bias towards racing.

      Good Info thanks.....I will pass on them then as my GS is 100% street driven and while I want more power I am looking to sacrifice as little street manners as possible....

        If thats your aim, do a 3mm overbore and raise the CR to 10.5-1. Now fit a good 4-1 pipe and you're done. All you need then is a minor tuning session on the carbs.
        While the heads off, do a cleanup in the valve pocket areas and blueprint the inlet and exhaust tracts.
        With these mods you will loose no bottom end performance, but gain significant mid range torque and some top end HP. The overall range of performance will be increased with no ill effects to street manners.
