BTW here is the Andrews Cams installation instructions with some relevant information. Check out Page 3 (orange sheet) at the bottom of the page. Andrews recommends setting lobe C/L 1/16" below the the cylinder head surface to achieve a 108/110 timing. So last time I degreed my Andrews S1's I found the casting marks in both cams; the raised casting mark is actually pretty fat. I used their method and measured the 1/16'" down with a Mitutyo digital caliper. I then checked the timing with the wheel and was quite suprised their method repeatedly measured 106 to 108.

I think this technique will get you in the ballpark real quick .

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

The beast I built and ran on the street back in the early 80`s had a 4S Andrews intake and a 3S Andrews exhaust cam. Coupled with 33 smoothbore carbs and an 1175 MTC kit. The piston kit was listed in the catalog as being like 10.5/1 but just looking at them I would have guessed them to be around 12/1 ......They also had oversized valve pockets....I ran a mix of premium fuel and av-gas in it. 3rd gear roll on wheelies were seamless and almost undetectable until the horizon told you otherwise.....The downside was overheating in traffic and keeping the charging system rotor on the crankshaft....It was as fast as a modern day Busa, but the reliability factor was poor....It quickly became a track only bike...Billy

I got my HD springs from WebCams and they also inspected my Andrews cams and checked the specs on them @ .050

          Andrews S-2 Cams

          Specs @ .050 per WebCams

          Duration: 261 in/ex Lift: 390

          @.020 Duration: 290/292

Also, these cams are not hard welded, they are billet.

Thanks to Dan Ruddock for getting me the springs and the inspection done from WebCam.

I hope to find some time this afternoon to put springs in and cams on, and this motor will be ready to install!
