    80-83 GS1100 E/S Katana Swingarm

I am looking for a 80-83 GS1100 E/S Katana swingarm to swap into my 79GS750. Anyone have one they are looking to part with, or do you know where I can obtain one?

I know this should have been in the "Parts Wanted" section but the forum would not allow me to. Kept on asking for my user name and password over and over and over.
If someone can move this thread to that area I would appreciate it. I don't want to cause trouble, as I plan on sticking around for awhile.

      Aluminum swing arm

Ask Frakensuki; he probably has a selection for you.

      Welcome aboard.

posplayr, thanks for the reply. I sent a PM to Frankzuki, hopefully he can hook me up.
I like your Black GSXRton. Is that a OE fairing you have mounted on it?

Thanks on the gixxer. I just bought the 86 GSXR 1100, last Wed and spent the weekend trying to make it run. Took my first real ride (30 min) lat nite at dusk and it is running pretty good but needs some new jets, and valves adjusted. Other than that I need to set the suspension for my weight.

I was going to just part this bike out, I was simply looking for a complete bike with the 92 USD forks so I could see how everything goes together. Well the bike is starting to grow on me, and I might just give it a paint job and ride it like it is and not do a GSXR conversion on my GS1100ED.

Been searching the web for some ideas, maybe leaning toward a Yoshimura race paint scheme and tail/seat modifications.

I'm assuming that the body work is OEM 86 slabside , although there is a possibility that part of the 92 GSXR fairing came with the USD fork conversion.

Bike handles pretty nice and with some clean up will be pretty sweet. It will take another $1K but all in all that is pretty cheap. I paid $1400 for the bike Wed.

            Bobbed Tail

Another small shot of the Yoshimura period tail modifications. I like it beacuse it reduces the amount of "slabside", which is not really all that complementry. I will have to see how much modification can be done with cutting the body work or with changing the color.

I'm really looking to get a red racer. I need to change the seat to raise the position because with the stock rear sets/seat position I'm hard pressed to use the rear brake (bad knees).

I painted my GS1100ED, so the major budget items will be a seat modification, different color wind screen (blue won't work with a red bike????), paint materials (I already have red and black but will need some decals) and tires (possibly progressive shock up front).

Forgot the pic; it is small

              Last but not least

Well maybe not. I'm still looking for something bigger. This is the tail I'll try and mimic.

                Posplayr,

Your GSXR looks like it has completely stock bodywork. At least, I don't see anything that looks out of place and I owned an 86 GSXR750 LTD for a lot of years...

I would say you want a smoked windscreen to work with red, anything else would clash to my eye.

Those are quality forks, you won't want Progressive Suspension springs in them. Go to RaceTech and get the correct rate for your weight and maybe Gold Valves for the damping cartridges. It will work fantastic like that with nothing else required.

For an alternate tail piece, check out Airtech. They carried a lot of different bodywork for the oil cooled GSXR's and should have something to suit your taste. The solo seat like my 750 LTD had would be pretty close to what you show on the Yosh race bike if they still offer that and it is set up so that you could add a pretty thick seat pad to add height if you wanted to.
