GS1000 Air Box Removed: Secure the battery?

Perhaps not a performance mod but when you remove the GS1000 2V airbox what are you guys using to secure the battery from bouncing around? This last year I reinstalled the original battery box after running a 16 Amp battery for a long time to fight starter kick back.

The OEM battery box does not have any tabs to install a battery hold down strap? TIA

I wouldn't make it to difficult if i were you. just put a strip of velcro around it and be done.

My plan is to use that space to make a storage box for tools and such...which would also hold the battery down.

Weird, that must have been another 1980 change. My battery box has the tabs for the rubber hold down strap.

The G is different to the 78... I have both.

I don't think I have anything holding mine down.. it's in a box, it's not going anywhere....

I wedged a length of old brake hose down between my battery and the box to keep it from rattling around.

How about make a tool box out of your stock airbox and just put it back place?
