    Performance exhaust recommenations?

Hi, I have an '82 GS750T cafefighter project I'm workin on. Can anyone make recommendations about exhaust? I'm trying to choose between the MAC 4-into-1 or the similar Vance & Hines setup. Any preferences out there for the two? Does Yoshimura still make pipes for these things? I couldn't find them on the website.

Yosh does not make anything anymore. If you can find one used, grab it with both hands and don't let go. I tried to find one for over a year for my 750, to no avail.

The MAC is junk IMO, I hated the MAC that was on my last bike, sounded terrible.

Given the off the shelf choices, I would choose the V&H even though I haven't heard or tried one.

I have the V&H 4-1 on my 78 750, and also ran it on my 77 750(both with pod filters). I have been told that the exhaust sounds good, and usually people think its a later model sportbike. Ill try to get a couple video clips for ya.

Marving - pricey but worth it (and the noise is to die for...)
        79 GS1000S
        79 GS1000S (another one)
        80 GSX750
        80 GS550
        80 CB650 cafe racer
75 PC50 - the one with OHV and pedals...
75 TS100 - being ridden (suicidally) by my father

I have an old beat up kerker and pods on my 81 750. I love it. Sounds great and it makes the bike pull hard in the upper RPM ranges. I believe when I bought it it was for a 1100 but it bolted right up to my 750. It is a little louder than most pipes I hear on the newer sports bikes but it also a lot deeper / throatier sound.

            Just my $.02

Personally, I was really fond of the Bassanni I had on my 1000S. Good lookin, sounded great, good ground clearance and pretty light. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could find one for my GK.
Common sense has become so uncommon that I consider it a super power.

              Present Stable includes:
              '74 GT750 Resto-mod I've owned since '79
              '83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)
              '82 GS1100G Resto project

You can make other stuff work. This is a Yosh Duplex meant for an oil cooled GSXR on my bike.

V&H 4-1 on my 750, love the sound and look of it. ...though I can't say I've heard any other GS' with anything other than stock or V&H.

If it were me, I'd probably try to find some dirtbag that lived about two hours north of me to cut and weld on some pipes until something awesome happened. Or ask for the cool sounding exhaust on his 850 if in fact this person did exist...
