i found this on Flea bay and it for some reason says it fits up to 1980 would it fit my 81?

also does the exhaust from a 650 or 750 ect... fit my 81 550 and/or give improvements?

or any other such mods?

Its still the same motor up until 82. should fit engine, mounting brackets for the muffler might be different but I doubt it. 750 will Not fit by a long shot.

The GS550 muffler hanger changed for 1981, from below the muffler to above. You might be able to get an early pipe to fit on your ‘81 if you fabricate a bracket of some sort. You also might want to do some research about differences with the centerstand bumper to make sure there won’t be any issues with that.
