The seller clarified but did not post it to the auction
Still a nice wheel for the money.

The early post 87 750's actually use this wheel 17x3.5" ft with a 17x4.5" rear
Pos
nice, ill look for one of those rear wheels.

18" is even tricky due to rotor and caliper mismatch with 19" forks.

Did you happen to check out the first page of this thread? I had no problem making a GS500 wheel with 310mm rotors work with 1979 750 Showa forks.

Well sorry just been catching up with the thread.
I see you used 17" wheels, rotors and calipers and adapted with new hangers to your stock forks. Nice.
Watta bout the rear?
Is that a stock caliper, with GSXR hanger for the caliper? Does that fit the rotor from the 17" wheel?
I've been working with the GSXR 1st gen 750/1100 stuff so have not paid much attention to mid 80 GS stuff (after 83).

Problem is going to bearings. If it is a 1988-era GSXR750 front wheel, then it's setup for 47mm od bearings. This means bearings are going to be...tricky...
GSXR is 20X47X14
GS1000 is 15X42X13
This means you will need 15X47X14 bearings to suit your application. I'm trying to find them...I know someone makes them...but it'll take some time.
If I were you I'd tell the seller to keep his wheel and look for a GS500 wheel. It was so easy that way. The wheel was a little cheaper, the rotors were definitely cheaper...but I'm sure we can make this work out.

All is GS500...all years are the same sans early models were white and the later were grey....which is pointless info since you didn't ask about year (misread)
The GS500 rear rotor is smaller than the GS750 rotor so it doesn't work very well. Solution is a GSF600 caliper hanger and a GS500 caliper (same caliper as bandit but found cheaper)...I'm still waiting on those parts to come in.Last edited by Guest; 01-23-2009, 08:36 PM.
