    2009 Track Headlines...

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone....

What better way to start off the new season than with everyone sharing their GOALS for 2009 at the track...

whether it be bettering your ET's or Modifying your Ride....let's hear what ya got

I'll get the ball rolling with a summary of my own:

2006 - ended with a personal best of 9.2 on a stock motor Busa
2007 - ended with a personal best of 8.6 on a stock motor Busa w/ spray
2008 - ended with a personal best of 7.77 on an RCC Turbo motor Busa

My GOAL for 2009 is to finally solve the wheelie issues (by adding some extra weight to the front end and readjusting the suspension) - this hopefully will result in seeing some 7.5's rather early on in the season.

      Go get them E !!

I just ordered a base gasket for the 1395 motor. Going to pull out the bad 750 ratio crank and go with my last spare 1100 ratio crank. Think I'll keep the rpm's below 9K this time should allow the wrist pins and crank bearings to last alittle longer

Been sort of bored this winter and this will give me something to do.

I did take a pay cut when I retired from Military but since the wife's an RN I don't have to worry about her job status, plus I like to sleep in now so it's worth it.

We got T&T on the 28 and just need to charge up the nitrous bottle and I'm ready.

Ordered a Mikuni HSR42 carb and should show up anyday now, going to slapped it on the old Sportster and see how see runs.

Wouldn't be so bad if it was just the loss of the wife's salary, but she decided to go back to school and get her medical assistant certificate...
            And that costs...

Oh well...I don't mind parking the dragbike for a season or two if it means she gets a better job...
Then I can retire earlier and race more

Good luck with the Sportster...our T&T opens April 4th...maybe I'll take out the street 1100E...

Complete my first full season of roadracing in the novice class on the GSXR. Race as many rounds as I can afford (racing bikes ain't cheap). Be faster, smoother, take better lines while staying safe. Break into the 1:30s lap time on Miller's West track.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I went through the same thing about 7 years ago when my wife was doing the same thing getting her RN, like paying all the bills and her's too, taking care of the kids, etc. But it was worth it once she was done.

                Hang in there !!

Me and my buds have a 81 gs550 thats just sitting around on the farm. With a combined fair amount of drag racing in cars, and a combined fair amount of bike experience on the street we are going to tune this 550 and take it to Cecil County Dragway on the weekends. The name of the bike is called "No Money Down" not tryin to be fast, just see how fast we can make it go and have fun

My racing goal for 2009 is to take the VRRA Period 3 Heavyweight championship away from the guy on the orange Rickman KZ ahead of me here:

We were pretty even on two tracks last year, but he's got a lot more experience on the other two tracks we visit - one I've never been to before.

I also want to actually race my 86/9 GSXR in Period 4 - it sat out last year entirely.

My goal is to get my vintage Kawasaki, Rotax 779 engined, 8" slick car-tire, Boris Murray framed, former twin engine dragbike to consistently see 9.40's and 9.50's. Last year it wouldn't 60-foot worth a darn (1.43 was best, if I remember correctly.) Over the winter, I cut the frame and lowered the seating position. This necessitated re-making the seat and rear fender. I lost 32 ounces of fuel capacity, too. Re-making the belt guard will give my left knee some extra room aft of the secondary clutch.

I realize that it's not a GS, but it does have a GS front fender from a mid-70's GS750. It is also painted a Suzuki yellow !! Close enough, right ?!

Got my HSR 42mm carb yesterday and gave it a test run today. Gotta say WoW I really like it. You can really feel the differance compared to the old 40CV one. I might just break into the high 7's now

Needs alittle chome on top and she'll be getting with the program.

Now open wide and say AAAHHH
