I actually just started doing mine today. I do see what you are talking about(little brass cylinder in that hole) Im just going to put that air correcter in there and not look back. Pretty sure thats the way its supposed to go anyway. You can kind of see it in some of the carb rebuild pics too.

Haha Thats what I did today. I did make the mistake of letting some O rings and two of the pilot jet caps sit in parts cleaner and ate it up. FYI most of the orings ar a #5. siting on the floor of home depot for 30 minuets to figure that out.

I bought the o-rings in advance but its good to know they are available at home depot. Took me all day to clean, rebuild, and jet them. I just got them back together but not installed on the bike just yet. How far did you get?

the homedepot o-rings won't work unless they are vitron type rubber, the gas will destroy them. thats why we get them from robert barr his are the right rubber.78 GS1000 Yosh replica racer project

Just getting ready to start re-jetting my GS650g with the Dynojet Stage III kit. It does NOT come with instructions (I contact Dynojet and they stated that it's not supposed to). Fortunately, I know somebody who is VERY good with carbs and jetting, so I'll go to him if I have troubles. I'll post info and progress that could help as this comes along.
The riding season is approaching quick here in Chicago, so hopefully this will happen sooner than later.

Nitrile in the carbs, and Viton for the intake boots.
It says viton in that link, but on the homepage it's nitrile for the carb o ring kits.

850s used 34 mm carbs/ I have handled them and they are bigger. the 550 through 750 bikes from 1981 to 1984 were 32 mm bikes rejetted for the application. The dual carb single body models are a different beat used on the 85 550.
Even the 16 valve 750 used 32 mm carbs1981 GS650G , all the bike you need
1980 GS1000G Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely

carb jet
I finised jeting my carb and its relitivly eassy. I haven't had a chance to run them yet to check for adjustments because Im still waiting for my pilot jet plugs to get shipped out. I made the mistake in letting them rot out in parts cleaner. Stupid move on my part. Replace the main jets jam that air corrector in the hole dab the glue on an edge or it. Pull out the old needles (use a hemostat) and drill the hole thats off center on the float with the smaller drill bit (its angled don't fight it) install the new needles per settings you got with the kit and adjust the air screws the same. thats it. The Clip setting is from the flat end. I think mine was 3rd clip position so 3rd from the bottom but would be the top when assembled. Hope that helps.
