I'm running gsxr rockers, 370 lift megacycle cams, and ape springs. I have the springs set at 40-42 lbs. with no problems to the rockers. I've heard others say heavier than 40 lbs and they had rocker problems.

Ryan is correct on the above post except that usually up to about 45-48 lbs on the seat is ok for stock rockers without much trouble. 50 or above seems to REQUIRE welded rockers. The problem with the stock rockers is that the base metal UNDER the chrome on the pad is softer than the chrome & it gives way & causes the chrome to flake off which eats the lobe. I have pulled motors apart & found a DIMPLE in the rocker from the metal being soft & the chrome still there. I have also seen stock rockers flake the chrome with stock cams but very RARELY! For the most part I use stock rockers for .370 lift down. I use welded rockers for .380 & above & EXTENDED pad rockers above .400 lift. I build my stuff kind of overkill for durability reasons so I'm sure someone on here has done more with less. Ray.

Supposedly they hold up better. I like them because I don't have to run the extended adjusting screws. I broke on and then wen to the gsxr rockers with stock screws.
