what i just did to my 1150 is put a busa spring on and it works great . i to am no light weight at 240 lbs and the spring is just about right. it drops about an inch with me on the bike, feels alot like my 1000 with konie's.
the spring is exactly the right height and the inner diamiter is exact as well. i got a deal on ebay the busa shock cost 30 dollars and 30 for shipping and with a quick spring change all my troubles were over.
all the adjustments on the stock shock still work ,its a cheap fix and worked for me .
    good luck ....toolman

Hmm I am only 165lb so could be a bit diff with me on it. I guess I'll have to pull the shock off, take the spring off & see if there is any damping left or if it can be rebuilt before I make any decisions....
