    7.5/10 conversion

So I posted in the techinal section but got no responses.

How difficult would it be to slap a 1982, 16v 1000cc motor out of an 82 Katana into an 83-85 GS 750E/700E frame?

If the 750 frame is the round tube variety, it should only involve new engine mounts (bottom front). The rest is a bolt in fit.

The newer square tube 750 frames (EF) had the pre GSXR motor and are too small to accept the older style engines.
    Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

    Past:
    VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

would be as hard as a doing a 1100 engine, the kat 1000 and the 1100 are the same size only differance is the piston diameter.

sorry i can't help any more but may it will broaden your search options.

I say it's worth a shot, do you already have the motor?
