    wanted gs1100 dependable streetable HP

I like threads that get to the point. Threads that can be a reference rather than surfing through dozens of posts and trying to piece together info.

    I now have a couple of GS1100E (82 and 83) motors and 1 is going into my 83 750 Katana. I want street-able power.

I have seen a lot of advise on performance mods but no real summary.

I would like the advise from engine builders on performance mods starting from the basics to things that are a little more.

So I hope everyone can sit back while the veteran power merchants tell us what to do.

Bottom line...stuff in a Busa engine. Done.

I can come up with plenty of suggestions but would rather see Mr. nobody do some research on his own first by reading the archives. Jim (posplyr) has posted up tons of appropriate info that is ready for consumption if nobody would look.

                Nobody,
Sorry for being rude, but perhaps you would be better to put an add under WTB for "gs1100 dependable streetable HP"

List either budget or horsepower or both. Someone will come along and give you a quote for that motor.

Pretty much every possible performance upgrade that con be done to a GS1100 engine has been discussed at least half a dozen times on this forum.

It's all there for you to find. If you think it's too much bother to look it up, then you're better off not trying to build a hot rod engine anyway.

Big bore kit, set of good aftermarket cams, some flat slides, 4 into 1 exhaust and some good head work with O/S valves and you can ride around with 160 plus streetable and tractable power. Too easy.

good luck ....the 83 750 is the square frame model isnt it ....motor wont fit without major surgery. the 83 750 motor was the precursor to the gsxr motor and shares (roughly) the same dimensions as the gsxr oilcooled lump....ie ..smaller so they therefore made the engine bay smaller ....so no chance of old fatty sliding in comfy

be better off with a 1052 or 750 gsxr oilcooled motor in that ....and i thought id never hear myself say that

Actually...the '83 GS750 Katana used the 16 valve '80-'82 750E engine (at least in the United States), just like the '83 GS750T did.

An 1100E engine should drop right in.

Hey posplayr you seem a little uptight! Have I said something that rubbed you the wrong way?

I've been reading the posts on this site for a few years already. Information is all over the map. Some people know more than others and some have tried thing others haven't.

I don't want to **** people off just summaries info, a sort of reference guide for me and others.
