There are no straight bolt on ones that are any better than the 1980.
You can bolt on a set of Kawasaki Calipers with GS550 disks or CBR Disks with some adapters...
Do a search, there is a lot of info on the Kawasaki Mod.

Even those have an adapter bracket... Are they off the shelf? Are they opposed piston? If not I wonder what gain they'd give over stock.
Cool discs what brand are they...1980 GS1000G - Sold

Salty, I don't really know what brand the discs are. I bought it this way. The brakes are Lockheed racing brakes. The bike was converted new in 1978 to an AMA racer in California and put back to street upon retirement.
I will say that these brakes are absolutely great! One finger operation, you have to really get used to them because they are probably 5 times stronger than my 83 1100.
FirstTimer was working on a similar conversion when he found a set of Lockheed on EBAY.

I suspect they are opposed piston (essentially the same design as 1150 front brakes). The disk looks much bigger too so that will help a lot.

Yeah you can still get the lockheeds from the factory, but i haven't found the disks yet. Thinking about contacting Kosman for rotors once i get the rest of my bike finished up. They seem to do custom stuff. I know about the CBR stuff but would like to stick to period rotors like the Wiz. I think the disks the wiz has are old brembo rotors.78 GS1000 Yosh replica racer project

Have a set of GS550 rotors ground down to 5mm & heavily drilled... that would be one way.
Wonder what diameter those are?

It's stories like these that make me feel lucky. I stumbled across a barely used Works shock for $150, Yosh Stainless Duplex for $150, PFM iron rotors for $160 a pair. These PFM rotors seem to be something different than they show in catalogue. Mine are drilled instead of slotted like they offer now.
