    gs1100trans in gs1000 and studs

    Hello;
    back again to get info in trying to sort out winter project. Will a gs 1100 trans fit in gs1000? also if using a gs1100GK block/head combination can you use gs1000 studs or are the 1100 studs longer. have tried to search but didn't find a difinitive answer. Thanks for the input

    What kind of 1000/1100, chain or shaft? Regarding the studs, did you compared the stud part numbers?

    BTW, I have a 1000G transmission I'd love to find a new home. The 1000 and 1100 shaft drive bikes shared the same transmission for the most part if that's what you need.

      Damn the shipping Ed or I'd take that trans just to have a spare.

        Sorry about leaving out some info. GS1000 is a chain drive. Asking about GS1100 chain drive trans. Looked at Babbitts site. The GS1100E (Chain) uses 4 of the same studs but the other 8 are different numbers. They didn't list the numbers for the GK, but they show that it uses 2 different studs, as does the GS1000. I remember reading a thread here that the GK block was interchangable to the GS1000, just wondering if it was higher and might require longer studs.
