From my lowly stock GS1000, it's a 130 on a 2.15 rim so it won't really get all the way to the edge ...honest. This was on the return trip from the Shasta rally. Yes, I had fun.

Great tire, huh? I find that they're great trackday tires - they don't require warmers and heat up fast. Plenty of edge grip too. Actually like them more than the Michelin Power Race tires from the trackside vendor. The main difference is slide predictability - when the Bridgestones slide they give a ton of warning and it's progressive and controllable - the tire hooks back up with the pavement without any drama. You can regain control by easing off the throttle, brakes, decreasing lean angle etc. The Michelins grip great up until they snap loose all at once with no warning and you'll wind up testing your leathers if not on your game. The only downside is that like any street/trackday tire they can get greasy after a few 7+/10s laps since they overheat but if that's an issue that's what race tires are for. Can't wait to try the BT003 Racing Street and full-blown DOT race BT003 this year.
I run mid-pack I group so I dont really have an issue with overheating. The You are right on about the Michelins. In fast, long corners the rear would just step out unexpectedly, no warning. This was never the case with the Stones.
I will burn one more set of the 002's (Weekend at Barber in March) then im thinking of trying the new D211GPA's that are coming out this year. I want to see why everyone is raving about the Dunlop's.

The track is Calabogie Motorsports Park near Ottawa, Canada. It is a fairly new track (only a few years old) and is great fun but very technical as it has several hidden apexs, FTO corners, and various elevation changes. It also has 22 turns within the 5.5 kms and two striaghts that you can easily hit 200kms an hour.

Apparently none of you ride in Illinois. The only place to lean a bike here is on the kick stand ;at least in Northeastern Illinois, where I live.

I used to live in Oregon where my commute to work was twisty-rich. I have to say that I got a little spoiled by it.
Sadly, with a new baby at home, riding the slab for 100 miles each way to go have fun is not really something I can do yet. The days when I could just take off for a day are behind me for a while. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. I have a couple of cousins who always show up to family functions on their bikes while the wives take the kids in the car. I used to make fun of them. Now I get it. That's the only riding they can do.
