    GS 1150 Tires

Any have good suggestions for where I can get good sport touring tires for a decent price.

I need tires for my GS 1150
    110-90-16 front
    130-90 17 for the rear

The motorcycle tire is the crucial outer component of the motorcycle wheel, directly connected to the rim. It delivers essential traction, durability again

Local dealer, Bridgestone BT45's. Brilliant gear.

I have Michelin Macadams on mine but I cant help you where to get them.
I have Bridgestones and struggled with grip issues in the wet...

        Cheers

I have found good prices, quality tires and free shipping at TiresUnlimited. My current favorites for price and grip are the Avon RoadRiders.
          Best of luck.

Dennis Kirk allows you to do a search by size so you can get a pretty good sampling of what is avaliable

Also, get a 140 for the rear, or if your bike is an 85 or 86 & has the 3.5 rear rim, get a 150. You will like the improvement in grip. Ray.

Jumping two sizes? Isn't that going to cause the tire to bulge?

Not if it has the 3.5 inch wide rear wheel! I have the Michelin Macadams on mine & LOVE them! Ray.

sometimes things are not what they appear.
150/70 on a 3.5 rim is what suzuki used on the 750 katana's circa late 80's through 90? maybe 2000?
                      ask josh/tck/i sold him a 3.5 rim and he's running a 150/70 looking good and he's a picky dick........
                      oh,
and a 130/90 on a 3.5" rim is silly...yes suzuki did it but think about it.

Yup, I'm picky. And a dick. And I am running 150/70 on a 3.5 rim. Anything smaller is retarded unless you got a smokin deal on a 140..
Honestly, depending on the tire design, if I could find a 160/70 or 160/60 in bias ply from Avon, I'd be running that... There is zero pinch on the 150...

go to a 120-80-16 on the front, that is what I have been using for the last 20,000km and it changes the way the bike rides dramatically for the better. I am using Avon Roadriders but Bridgestone BT45 or whatever they have replaced them with would be OK for general sport/tour riding.
