I am tuning a set of 36mm flatslides. The slides have 2 bleed holes in the bottom. I have a jet kit that suggests plugging one hole as tuning option. Does plugging the hole make the slide rise quicker or slower?

Less area of hole/s equals slower lift.
Personally I've never had to reduce the area except after going too far....

So by plugging one of the 2 holes the slide will rise slower, correct? Does it also cuase the slide hieght to be lower or only the rate of travel?Comment

Generally only the rate of lift is affected, but in an extreme case it is possible that the slide would not "see" enough vacuum to achieve full lift.
The extreme case in the other direction is too large holes which on a long enough straight as the manifold vacuum drops at W.O.T. can let the slides drop as there is not enough vacuum to hold them up.
I'm told that when Schwantz won Daytona on the 750 GSXR he kept asking for better response so the team went bigger on the holes until it wouldn't stay open round the banking. According to data I was shown they got up to around 4.6mm diameter holes. Most CV's use holes around 2.8mm.
