Add more to the steering stop?
Now that my bike is running clip-ons, when I turn the bars full right or full left, the bars hit the tank. I dont want to adjust the bars as they are in the perfect place for my riding position and I dont want to put dents into the tank. I dont need to limit it by much so what options are out there?Tags: None

As long as you are ok with limiting the turning radius of your machine, I would mock-up a spacer on the frame stop using some duct tape and a small piece of wood to get the proper thickness.
Then replace the mock-up with either a hunk of metal welded on, or perhaps drill and tap a hole to accept a bolt that you could adjust in/out with a lock nut.
If it were my machine, I would weld on a piece of metal. Less that could go wrong that way.
I am sure there are many who would say "move the darn clipons", but hey, it's your ride, make it yours.

i had the same problem on my 1100 EZ. only discovered it after the fame had been power coated ...doh
managed to make a small plate and mount it under the steering stem. plenty of meat under there for bolting into. depending on how much clearance you need ...you just make the plate suit ...once painted , you wouldnt know it was there.

I would like to change my recommendation to "Saffa's Bolt-on Steering Travel Limiter™".
This would also retain the ability to return the bike to stock travel again with the removal of two bolts. Genius!
