    wiseco 1085 oil consumption

Done about 1400miles since had my Gs1000s bored out to a wiseco 1085cc just
wondering how much oil they use or not, changed oil in it 3 times in that time
now running it on 10/40 Catrol power1 semi synthetic oil,so, we will see wot happens been running it on car oil before it was rebuilt and ran it for first 500mile on a mineral 10/40 car oil.

I never could tell as I probably leaked more than burned .

Never measured any of this accuratrely so guessing a little................
I fresh engine unleaking motor probably wont use more than 1/4 quart in 2000 miles which most people change oil by then (like going from bottom line to top line).

Castrol GTX in mine Steve. Oil changes somewhere between 500 miles (wet years when it doesn't get ridden ) and roughly 1500 miles otherwise. Never had to top it up.

You must have a beautiful garage floor (no leaks)

Wally you know the rules you shouldnt do that?.
going to leave it a little while and what the differance motorcycle oil make,96000miles in 30yrs.
all it needed was a new camchain valve guides and a rebore, also got Gs1100g cams init degreed in on slotted sproxs I wanted torque not topend.
Oooh nearly forgot a new gearbox sprox shaft the splines were badly worn.
but it makes alot of differance to the power out put.
going to be Dynoed very soon.

reason i used castrol power1 is because its easier to get should i need some out one day.
the other reason is never had any isues with castrol oils.
