    Top End Oiler Question

I'm curious if a top end oiler for a GS1100 would also work on a GS750. Anyone know? I know my bike is stock on the top end, but it seems like added insurance. Since it's an 81 GS750, it should already have the higher volume pump gears correct?

Yes, it already has the correct oil pump gears but, unfortunately, the 16 valve 750 I just looked at has no place to supply the oil from like the 1100/1150 engines have. If you wanted to spend the time to do it, you could figure out how to supply the oil to the cams from the right side oil galley plug. I don't think it is neccessary, though, as the issue with the 80-82 GS750 engines is oil supply to the rod & main bearings. That seems to be the common failure place on those engines. Ray.

Shimming the oil pressure relief spring is advised on the second generation 750 to boost pressure a little. That would be my first mod to the oiling system.
